I can remember lying on my back in the front room of my parents’ house as a child, with all the lights off except for the Christmas tree. I would gaze at the tree and imagine what Santa would bring.
Tonight we had the lights off except for the tree. Jonathan and I read The Polar Express, sang a song, said our prayers, and got ready for bed. I can’t explain just how, but sharing Christmas with my own kid makes me feel just like I did twenty years ago.
Only 9 more days to Christmas morning!
